Records of Attention is an ongoing project that translates field recordings into visual scores through drawing and printmaking.
For each work, a custom system is developed in response to a specific site and recording, converting sonic information into line and form. The resulting works function as visual records of sonic environments, part image, part score, part map.
Drawings and prints will be added here as they are created. More information about each work, including the system used to generate it and the sound it is based on, can be found by clicking on the image.
The first series contains three drawings created from recordings made near the lost village of Mullagh Gear on the Mullaghmore Peninsula, Co. Sligo, and can be found here.
