About

I am a multimedia artist and PhD candidate based in the northwest of Ireland. My practice explores the intersection of natural and synthetic processes through an experimental, research-led approach. Rooted in ecological realism, my work investigates the complex relationships between ecosystems, perception, and technology.

Guided by intuition and scientific research, I explore the use of field recording, computer programming, drawing, painting, digital media, and installation to develop interconnected works that engage the environment. A central aim of my practice is to explore how computation can function as a creative medium, revealing new ways to understand and experience the intricacies of the natural world.

My current work focuses on sound as both subject and material. I am particularly interested in endangered and disappearing soundscapes. Much of my work involves seeking out unique habitats to capture audio recordings, presenting these in a manner to challenge audiences perception of sound and reimagine or speculate on potential sonic futures from fragile or vanishing ecologies. Through this, I wish to explore how sound and visual art can serve as tools for connection, preservation, and ecological awareness.
